Apple Computer Inc is the
world’s largest multinational technology company founded on April 1st,
1976 by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne. They co-founded the
company in the garage of Steve Jobs childhood home in Los Altos, California.
Apple’s first invention the Apple I was invented by co-founder Steve Wozniak and
was sold only as an assembled circuit board in July 1976. After which they
introduced the revolutionary Apple II, in 1977 which was a major advance
computer technology.

Today, the company mainly
design, develop and sell consumer electronics brands, computer software, and
online services. Their products now include smartphones, tablets, music
players, television sets and smart speaker, software such as iTunes media
player, Safari web browser, macOS and iOS operating systems, and the iLife and
iWorks creativity and productivity suites, as well as online services such as
iTunes Store, iCloud, iBooks Store, Apple Music and Mac App Store.

The company currently
employs over 123,000 full-time employees and has 499 retail stores in 22
different countries and has a digital presence across the globe (Apple Inc.
2018). They operate in a highly competitive market and faces intense rivalry
from competitors with close products and services.

Some of Apple’s competitors
are Samsung, Google, Microsoft, Bose, Fitbit, Sony Mobile, Dell, Pay Pal, Tesla
Motors and Amazon.com (Eskify 2018). Apple’s 5 major markets operate in the
U.S, Europe, China, Japan and Asia Pacific (Sam Mattera 2018). The company
targets both genders, that is, male and female between the ages of 18-45 years
from the U.S and Internationally (John Dudovskiy 2018).
